Goa Gil has a rich psychedelic history...Gil grew up in the middle of the San Francisco music scene of the sixties, he then left to journey to India in 1969. Having been a musician all his life and then doing intense yogic practices with Gurus in the Himalayas he tried to unite the two (music and yoga) into one spirit befitting this age. The result was the Goa Full Moon parties, and his concept of "Redefining the Ancient Tribal Ritual for the 21st Century".

His focus is in trying to use the party situations a medium to uplift the consciousness of the participants through the trance dance experience.

He says "Since the beginning of time mankind has used music and dance to commune with the Spirit of Nature and the Spirit of the Universe... We are trying to use Trance Music and the Trance Dance Experience to set off a chain reaction in Consciousness... Through the Trance Dance Experience hopefully people will become more sensitive and aware of themselves, their surroundings, the cross-roads of humanity and the needs of the planet... With that sensitivity and awareness comes understanding and compassion, that is the need of the hour, and the true Goa State of Mind!" He met Ariane in Goa in 1985. They have been together constantly ever since. Ariane's keen interest in African Djembe drumming and West African traditional dance has also had a big influence on the development and direction of Gil's musical tastes.

Since 1988, Gil and Ariane have been visiting San Francisco again on a yearly basis, where they met Peter Ziegelmeier and Kode IV.

In 1991, Gil made 2 remixes of songs from the Kode IV CD/LP "Insane" and then Gil and Ariane went on to join the band. Gil and Ariane's work with Kode IV is featured on 2 CD/LP's: "Silicon Civilisation" and "Best of Kode IV Compilation" released on K.K. Records, Belgium.

Gil and Ariane's current musical collaboration with Peter Z is called "The Nommos" _(We have watched the skies and waited!)_ They are featured on "The Language of Light" CD from Ceiba Records, USA, as well as the "Destination Israel" CD from BNE Records, Israel.

Gil has also completed two DJ mix CD's for Fairway Records, France. "Spiritual Trance" Vols. 1 & 2.

Gil has also completed a mix for the 4th release of the "Deck Wizards" series for Psychic Deli Records, UK, entitled "Kosmokrator", featuring The Nommos' track "Po Tolo (B Sirius mix)".

Released in June 1998 is Gil's Burning Man DJ Mix, featuring The Nommos' track, "Amma", which also appears on the Language of Light 2 CD, both available from Ceiba Records.

Released on All Saints Day, November 1, 1998 is Gil's DJ mix CD, "The Forest of the Saints" (Avatar Music / NMC, Israel) which includes a rough mix of The Nommos' new track, "Djembe".

Released on August 15, 2000 is Gil's latest DJ mix CD,
"Cyber Baba 2000" (Phonokol, Israel).
